DuROCK PUCCS

PUCCS NC (NON-COMBUSTIBLE)

DuROCK’s PUCCS NC is the latest addition to the PUCCS series of Exterior insulated Finish Systems. The GDDC circular grooved PUCC-ROCK virgin wool insulation board has a 10mm deep air space required by building code and professional insurers. PUCC-ROCK non-combustible insulation and its integral reinforcing mesh are simultaneously fastened to the supporting wall using DuROCK’s liquid applied WRB’s and mechanical fasteners. The PUCC-ROCK insulation board effectively forms a water-repellant gasket around each fastener. PUCC-ROCK insulation boards are face-marked at 4 inch intervals to pinpoint stud locations, which makes this system much easier and faster to install. PUCCS NC has dual reinforcing meshes for increased impact resistance. PUCCS NC liquid-applied WRB’s effectively control air leakage, yet permit vapour diffusion to the exterior. PUCCS NC can be easily detailed to direct precipitation to the exterior.

DuROCK InsulROCK

INSULROCK/COMMERCIAL & HIGH RISE CONSTRUCTION

The DuROCK series of InsulROCK EIFS provides moisture control through the use of a secondary barrier to moisture intrusion, which may also be used to control air leakage. This barrier, combined with the system’s ability to drain incidental moisture, makes InsulROCK EIFS well suited for cladding buildings of any size. The DuROCK InsulROCK System is intended for use on non-wood substrates. This system may incorporate either DuROCK Cement Bear (air/moisture barrier) or, where the design permits, DuROCK Vapour Block.

DuROCK EIFS Maintenance Guide

Following these
guidelines will keep your DuROCK EIF System in good condition for years to
come.

  1. Protect your building from water penetration by replacing damaged caulking every three years.

  2. The use of crushed stone when landscaping around the perimeter of your home will minimize the splashing of mud that will stain the finish.

  3. When leaning a ladder against your walls, make sure you pad the end of the ladder to protect the finish from damage.

CLEANING

If your walls should require occasional cleaning to remove pollution, dirt, mildew or algae, we recommend a solution of: 16 parts warm water, 4 parts household bleach and 1 part trisodium phosphate (TSP). Always test-clean a small area first to make sure you get the desired results.

On small scale area, wet the surface with water prior to spray-applying the stucco cleaning solution. Using a soft bristle brush, lightly scrub the area then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

On a larger scale area, it is recommended to wet the surface prior to applying any cleaning solution. Use a low pressure sprayer; apply the cleaning solution (30-50psi) to the surface. Again, light scrubbing with a soft
bristle brush may be necessary.

In order to rinse the wall surface, higher pressure is needed to thoroughly rinse away the cleaning solution (always keep below 600psi).
Rinse the surface from top to bottom in vertical sections.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN YOUR WALLS WITH SOLVENT S OR ACID BASED CLEANERS

REMOVAL OF EFFLORESCENCE

Efflorescence may occur during the initial cure of a cementitious product beneath the acrylic finish. As the water evaporates, it leaves the salt behind which forms a white film.  Since efflorescence brings out salts that are not ordinarily part of the cementitious product, it is not a structural, but, rather, an aesthetic concern. A solution called Efflorescence Clean Spray is available by contacting the customer service department at DuROCK.

As with any other cleaning agent, it is recommended to wet the surface with water prior to applying any product.  Employ similar techniques as stated in the preceding section (cleaning) using the Efflorescence cleaning agent in place of the Stucco cleaning solution. It is important to thoroughly rinse any solution from the DuROCK Finish to avoid residue that can cause staining.

RECOATING

Always be sure that the area to be recoated is thoroughly clean and dry before applying the finish.

DuROCK’s Airless Finish should be used in the instance that any stains on the surface cannot be removed by conventional cleaning practices.
Refer to the product information datasheet on Roller Finishes and follow application instructions as specified. Recoating and finishing with Airless will only affect the color of the finish, not the texture. If the texture requires repairing and refinishing please contact DuROCK for a list of qualified EIFS contractors.
